In general, the machine seems very nice, very robust, high quality, and well put together. The only possible problem you might find is that at any one time, you can only have either the floppy drive attached. I found this a real pain during installation, but since then have never needed to use the floppy drive, so it hasn't been a problem. If you regularly need to use both CDs and floppys, I would advise getting an external drive to use with this machine.

Toshiba Satellite 3000One other thing that wasn't obvious to me at first sight is that to eject a SmartMedia card from the built in drive, you actually need to push it further in. Before realising this, I had resorted to using a pair of plyers to pull the card out of the drive!

The Intel-powered dv2000t, powered by a 2.0-GHz Core Duo CPU, turned in a much better score of 221. The Nvidia GeForce Go 6150 video card with 256MB of memory yielded a 3DMark03 score of 1,140, which is about average for a midlevel controller, and as such is not the best choice for gaming enthusiasts. The Intel version of this notebook didn’t fare much better, scoring 1,465.

Lancia Prisma was a midsize car built by Lancia in the 1980s. It was basically a sedan version of the Lancia Delta, and like its smaller hatchback "brother", shared its chassis and engines with the Fiat Ritmo and Regata. Unlike the Delta, though, the Prisma never had a career in motorsports, the most powerful version using the Fiat DOHC engine in 2.0 L guise, mated to Lancia's Integrale four wheel drive transmission, for a maximum of 115 PS (83 kW), about half of the Delta Integrale.

While the majority of Delta models were ordinary small family cars, the most famous model was the Delta HF Integrale, a four-wheel drive hot hatch with a powerful turbocharged petrol engine. A tweaked version of the HF dominated the World Rally Championship, scoring 46 WRC victories overall and winning the Constructors Championship a record six times in a row from 1987 to 1992, in addition to Drivers' Championship titles for Juha Kankkunen (1987 and 1991) and Miki Biasion (1988 and 1989).

The fifth generation Nissan Sentra has been introduced in 2000 and continued with minor changes through 2006.

The Sentra is fairly simple and comparatively inexpensive small four-door sedan. Nissan Sentra sports front-wheel drive, transversely mounted 4-cylinder engine, 5- or 6-speed manual (SE-R Spec V) or 4-speed automatic transmission.

The Sentra comes with two engine choices: 1.8-liter 4-cylinder DOHC engine with 126 horsepower and more sporty 2.0-liter engine (later replaced by 165-hp 2.5-liter DOHC engine). ABS is optional. Disk brakes in the front, drums in the back (four-wheel disk brakes optional).

The interior is plain and conservatively styled with simple instrument panel. The dashboard has a convenient storage compartment on the top. Rear space is fairly limited. Split rear seat folds flat for extra cargo room; trunk is fairly spacious for a small car.

Ride is firm with stiff suspension. The engine is a bit noisy on acceleration.

The Mazda 323 (called the Familia in Japan) was a subcompact car made by Mazda in Japan between 1976 and 2003. In the USA it was originally known as the GLC, then the 323, then finally from 1990 on as the Protegé. In South Africa it was known as the Etude. The Ford Focus-based Mazda 3 replaced this series of platforms for 2004, though Mazda still contributed much to the project.

323s were built in Hiroshima, Japan, although they were also assembled in Taiwan, Malaysia, South Africa, Colombia and New Zealand.

In North America the 323/Protegé was always more expensive than its entry-level competitors such as the Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic, partly due to its manufacturing in Japan, and therefore is not as ubiquitous. A perennial favorite of US car magazines, the model is well regarded for its spirited handling. It was also the first small Japanese car to cross over to the EPA "compact" class in 1990 when the 4-door started going by the name Protegé.

It formed the basis of the Ford Laser and Meteor in Asia, Australia and other markets, (known as the Mercury Tracer in the United States) and from 1991, the Ford Escort in North America.

The first Mazda 323 was a rear wheel drive model. It was known in the United States as the Mazda GLC (which stood for 'Great Little Car') and was a version of the fourth-generation Japan-market Mazda Familia.

Still later, a five-speed manual gearbox was introduced as an alternative to the original four-speed manual gearbox, and at the same time the original 7 in (17.8 cm) round sealed beam headlights were replaced with square sealed beam units on all models except the van, together with a general styling and mechanical upgrade. A three-speed automatic gearbox was also available throughout the model run.

Production of the van variant only continued after 1980 (still with round headlights), as there was no front wheel drive replacement.

The 1980 323 featured a 1.5 L engine, and was front wheel drive. It was available as a hatchback and sedan. The 1980 Carol/323 was the first front-engine, front-wheel drive vehicle from Mazda since the rare R130. A wagon version, which was simply a facelifted version of the previous rear-drive model, was also sold. The 323 was Wheels magazine's Car of the Year for 1980.

The 1985 323 again featured a 1.5 L engine. It was available as a hatchback, sedan and wagon . The Ford Laser version of this model also formed the basis of the Mercury Tracer.

The model remained in production in South Africa until 2003, as an entry level model, also being sold as the Ford Tonic, and was briefly sold in the UK as the Sao Penza. A locally designed pick-up called the Hustler was also produced, and sold as the Ford Bantam.

This generation was sold through the 1989 model year in the USA. The station wagon continued in many markets and was not cancelled until 1995.

It's available as a three- or five-door hatchback, a roomy estate, four-door saloon or even as a folding metal roofed coupe-cabriolet (which will be updated in line with the facelift in March 2008). A high-performance ST version, with a 225bhp turbocharged 2.5-litre engine as in the Volvo S40/V50 T5, will also be available in refreshed form in March 2008.

On the exterior, only the roof panel carries over from the original Mk II design, the Focus inheriting the new design language introduced by the Mondeo. Swept-back headlamps and a large trapezoidal front grille dominate.

Under the skin the Focus remains unchanged, but the Ford gains a new Powershift dual clutch gearbox in March 2008 to replace the unloved CVT-auto.

With environmental concerns pressing, the brand has also launched a range of ECOnetic models that reduce CO2 outputs to as low as 114g/km on certain models, thanks to improved aerodynamics and mechanical revisions.

The 2008 Ford Focus is substantially updated, receiving fresh styling and new features. Focus comes as a 2-door coupe and 4-door sedan. Hatchback and wagon models are no longer available. S, SE, and topline SES trim levels are offered. The only engine is a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder with a standard 5-speed manual transmission or optional automatic. Sync provides voice control of certain cell phone and MP3 player functions. Sync is standard on SES and available on SE models. Also available are leather upholstery and remote engine start.
