Nissan Xtrail Service Manual

Nissan Xtrail Service Manual

The Nissan car company came out with the X-Trail model as a compact crossover SUV type vehicle. They introduced the model in 2001. The X-Trail found its position just below the Nissan Xterra and the Pathfinder.Nissans first genesis X-trail was based on the Nissan FF-S platform.

This same platform was also shared with the Almera and the Primera. The first generation models were produced from 2001-2007. By 2004 all models were equipped with fully electric windows, electric door mirrors, climate control a single CD player, four air bags for safety and remote central locking. In the middle of 2002 Nissan released a special version X-Trail that was only offered to the Japanese domestic market. The second genesis of the X-Trail was launched in 2007 and is still in production today.

Nissan Xtrail Owners Manual

This version is slightly larger than previous models and became based on the Nissan C platform. For this genesis Nissan did something different, it asked the customers what they would like to see changed and used this information to revise the model. Although they ran into a small problem, most of the customers responded with a single word when asked what they would like changed, "nothing."

This let Nissan know they were doing something right to begin with and took the other info from other answers and started a refinement process. It has kept its slightly squared off shape as it makes it easy for nervous or inexperienced drivers to see the corners of the vehicle. This interpretation is slightly larger than previous models offering more space in the interior, a bulk of the extra space is dominated by the boot area which offers "best in class" capacity.

Nissan Xtrail Owners And Service Manual

Another non optional extra for the vehicle line includes Bluetooth connectivity for mobile phones allowing the drivers to answer phone calls by touching buttons on the steering wheel and displaying caller id info on the audio screen. Since satnav is so prevalent in these times Nissan has moved back the instrument cluster to make room for a screen to be mounted in the dash.

Nissan Xtrail Workshop Manual

While the X-Trail used to be commercialized as more of a workhorse than it was a family vehicle, the newer versions are much more family friendly and show a much more refined attitude. It is now a comfortable, reliable, hard working stylish vehicle that is as at home on the open road as much as it is driving down a dirt path up the side of a mountain.

Harley Davidson Road King Classic

Harley Davidson Road King Classic

They all appear "hot", but try and ride a few and you will soon discover their specific "tastes". Here is a small selection of distinctively "spicy" Harley's to try.1. Ultra Classic Electra Glide. The classic Harley tour bike intended to take on the open road. With that long haul feature that gives outmost rider comfort. Made for those long and winding escapades, it has a decent storage capacity for rider's property and outdoor survival elements. The bike seat itself says everything about comfort; it's just a small scale away from being a lazy boy!

Harley Davidson Manual

The look is absolutely amazing with all that leather, chrome and the rumble of a signature v-twin engine.2. CVO Fat Bob. Thought as one of the best handling Harleys in the family, it breathes with a Granite powder-coated TC 110. Seats are higher this year for this Harley baby with an elevated 26.2 inches. As compared to its ancestor, its 9 pounds lighter with an increase in gear ratios from 2nd, 3rd and 5th. This model is still a cruiser but has been more inclined to being a sport rider than a laid back mellow touring bike. Never the less, it is still of the CVO family with that removable extra seat extension for that extra special someone you want to ride with.3. XL883L Police Bike. Now why would anyone want to ride a police motorbike? Unless you have a thing for them, you really would not be boarding one.

Harley Davidson Road King Classic Service Manual

You would just be driving the same model and make. Come to think of it, it would be quite interesting because you'd experience the power and maneuverability that makes this Harley Davidson one of the best police vehicles out today.4. Heritage Soft Tail Classic. This bike speaks of the birth of Harley Davidson. It is the image of which Harleys are known for, studded leather saddle bags, full front fender and king sized windshield on top of that potato engine rumble. Dress the part of a Harley hot rodder with leather chaps, a do-rag and boots.5. V-Rod Muscle. The youngest and by far most contemporary of the Harley. With a liquid cooled v-twin engine and added unyielding of overturned forks, it is everything that a modern biker would want in a legendary bike.6. Classic Trice.

Harley Davidson Road King Classic Workshop Manual

Who says that three wheels isn't cool enough? Not with the HD logo on. You still have the same qualities of a Harley Davidson and of course some significant and obvious differences. You still have that HD clutch, brake, throttle and shifter. What sets it apart from the 2 wheeled Harleys is the handling and maneuver style.

Trikes do not lean when you are maneuvering a turn. They handle turns similar to how a car does, by steering. Transitioning from a two wheel to a tricycle is quite challenging as you may have to be wary that the rear end is wider than your front, you may have to set a wider perspective of driving to consider this characteristic of Tricycles. When touring, Tricycles are so relaxed to drive as you need not put your feet on the ground when stationary.

Over the ages, Harley Davidson has released hundreds after hundred of motorcycles all over the world, each one appealing to a certain individual who has found a warmth for the brand. A Harley and it's owner share a special kind of bond that is quite unexplainable, but one thing is a fact, a Harley will and always be a Harley and there is nothing faster and sleeker that can replace a legacy.

Ducati Multistrada 1200S Service Manual

Ducati Multistrada 1200S Service Manual

Ducati Multistrada 1200S Service Manual

Ducati Multistrada MTS Service Manual

Not that long ago, Ducati wouldn't have built a bike like this. As a complete all arounder, the Multistrada 1200S has features not automatically associated with the Bologna brand; stuff like being very easy and practical to live with, and having lots of comfort. It can even boast a light clutch lever, mirrors that work, and a useful steering lock.

Perhaps most amazing of all though, is that the 1200 is electronically multi-adjustable. All are signs that Ducati has thought very carefully about the whole of the Multistrada's design, considering just about everything. Of course being a Duke, you can also take for granted the 1200 has plenty of style, exciting performance, and character. In fact so sorted is it, I'd stick my neck out and say it's the most impressive bike I've ridden in 2010 - and there's more than a handful of others I could also rave about.

The well-built and nicely finished Multistrada is an utterly brilliant bike that you just want to ride and ride - a go anywhere, anytime type bike. It has even more versatility than BMW's R1200GS, and is lighter, easier, more advanced and refined.I wasn't surprised to discover the Ducati suited me; versatile tools like this one usually do. But just how much I warmed to it was the real shock. Save one aspect of the Italian bike, which I'll come to later because there's too much else to praise it for, I found it a thoroughly intoxicating machine. In some ways it's a wonder I've found time to write this test, so keen was I to be out and about riding it. I've already clocked up 750 miles travelling the roads of Gloucestershire and Wiltshire in just four days, and I'm likely to double that by the time I return the 1200 after my ten day stint with it.There are effectively three versions of the bike. The 1200S Sport which I've tested here, and the S touring (complete with panniers heated grips, and a few less of the S's features like the carbon bodywork) which has the same ?14,416 on the road price. For ?11,116 you can have the lower specification base model, which has the option of ABS for an additional ?700.Such is the demand for the Multistrada, especially the two higher spec models, you may have to wait a while before you can get one at your local dealers. The cheaper version is more freely available.

Ducati MTS 1200 Workshop Manual

Taking there's a waiting list for the S models came as no surprise to me. I myself fell for this one on the very first day of riding it. Though getting its wheels turning did involve a half hour delay while all its electronic options were explained to me. Via the Ducati's indicator cancel switch, there are four separate modes to choose from - Sport, Touring, Urban and Enduro. Each has a pre-set power (level and delivery), interruption, and traction control settings, though there's also a chance to alter the clever Ohlins suspension more specifically via tuneable electronic preload, compression and damping adjusters. There are also some pre-ordained settings you can select to cope with the extra weight of pillions, or luggage, or both. Now I'm going to leave it there for a while, as I'm sure just like I was when it was all being explained to me, you're getting a bit flummoxed by it all, and would prefer to get on the with the business of Taking about what the Multistrada feels like to ride!Well let me tell you, riding the big V-twin is both straightforward and stimulating. It'll be bit of a bind for a while if you're quite short in the leg like me though. Until you've loaded yourself onto the broad seat and compressed the interruption, it remains at its lofty 850mm elevation making it tricky to swing your leg over both it, and the rack arrangement that sits behind. In time this becomes less of an issue, and if it doesn't then the aftermarket 25mm lower version (one of many official accessories that are available) will help.

Ducati Multistrada Manual

Within seconds of your hands and feet meeting nicely-sited wide, high bars and none too high footrests, you're given an impression of the relaxed nature of this Ducati. Keyless ignition (and steering lock) continues the feeling of ease and convenience, though the typical light taps and rattles from the engine at tick-over dent the otherwise advanced air of the bike a little. A VFR owner might be tempted to call the AA! Having ridden lots of 1198 sportsbikes, the engine of which the Multistrada has a retuned version of, I'm used to all the clattering so my own phone remained unused. And just a few miles on the 1200 proved the big V-twin motor was very much alive and well. With the Touring mode selected, which gives a maximum of 150 bhp, but with a slighter slower throttle response than the Sport setting, there's sufficient of meaty surge available whenever you need it. More than enough power and torque exists in the midrange, and after choosing this setting more than any other thanks to its usability and good behaviour, I still rarely needed to rev the motor above this zone. Some might prefer the Urban setting at times thanks to its appreciably softer delivery and 100bhp peak output, but I myself thought the Touring mode was more than well-mannered, and especially good for overtaking and making traffic history. The slick gearbox doesn't need its ratios swapping much for doing this sort of thing either.Take the rpm higher though, and there's no doubt the 1198 is a very, very strong motor.

A glance at the speedo will often reveal a much higher figure than you'd anticipate. There's rarely need to worry about that though. Like virtually all other Ducatis, the Multistrada's chassis is more than up to the task of dealing with speed. It's just as adept at walking pace as it is at going fast; as indeed are the excellent Pirelli Scorpion Trail tyres. There's a light, predictable and manageable feel to the bike at all times, with the at-the-touch-of-button adjustability of the interruption dealing very well with just about every road surface and rider preference. It's a fantastic system that makes you wonder how you ever coped with screwdrivers and peeled knuckles.

If you want, you can tailor one of the preset four modes to suit your most preferred interruption (as well as the power and traction control) settings at any time. Its general brilliance does however highlight one inadequacy in the electronics package for me personally.

Kawasaki KZ400 Problems

Kawasaki KZ400 Problems

When troubleshooting a KZ400, first start with the basics. These simple tests can work for any engine. All engines need three basic things to run fuel, spark and air. These simple things can cause your Kawasaki KZ400 to not start up or run poorly.

Kawasaki KZ400 Workshop Manual

First start off with the fuel remove the hose off the tank and make sure the fuel is flowing properly. Some bikes will have to turn the fuel selector to prime, not on, or fuel will not flow.

Take a flashlight and look down into the tank, is the fuel varnished or is there dirt in the tank? Older Kawasaki KZ400s had a problem with tanks rusting inside and would plug the screen up inside the tank. Fuel delivery may still be a problem but we will come back to that later.

Next remove the spark plugs, you may need to remove the tank to reach them. Inspect every spark plug as you take them out. All the spark plugs should look the same. If a plug looks white colored, that cylinder may be (lean) and not getting enough fuel.

Kawasaki KZ400 Manual

If you have a plug that looks wet and black, that cylinder may getting too much fuel (rich) or not sparking good. Remove all the spark plugs and snap the plugs back into their wires.

Set the spark plugs on the engine so that they can ground themselves. Crank the bike over and watch the plugs for sparks, preferably somewhere dark. Make sure you look at all the plugs to make sure they are all sparking. If one spark looks weak check the wire and plug, if old or worn replace them. If their is no spark the coil may be bad.If you have any test equipment such as an ohm meter, you can find out what the resistance reading should be for your bikes coils. This way you will know for sure if the coils are o.k. If the ignition system looks fine move on to the carburetors. First, if the bike has not been maintained recently (a problem in itself) make sure the carbs are synchronized. To do this you need a vacuum gauge made for this. Remove the small rubber plug located between the carbs and the cylinder.

Attach the gauge and take the readings from each cylinder. Replace the caps when not measuring or it won't run right. Adjust the throttle screw or linkage for that carb until they all read close to one another.Refer back to inspecting the spark plugs. If one cylinder looked lean or rich check all hoses for cracks and air leaks. If the KZ400 has not been run in awhile the carbs may be (gummed up). Remove the float bowl off the bottom of the carb.

Kawasaki KZ400 Problems

Look in the bowl for dark varnish looking gas. If the fuel looks dark you will probably have to remove the pilot and main jets and carefully run a wire through the center hole to clean them out. Be careful to not bend the float as the height needs to be correct to run well also. Check that the small needle attached to the float between the pivot point, is moving up and down.

If it doesn't move smoothly the carb will not fill up with gas or will run low as your driving down the road.Make sure you check the battery also, if they become weak the ignition system won't have enough power to keep the bike running smoothly. If you still haven't found anything make sure you valve lash has been checked at the correct mileage intervals. If not this can cause many problems with the way it runs.

Also you can screw a compression gauge into the spark plug holes and check that they are within 5-10% of each other. If one is way down you have a serious problem either with the pistons, bore or valves. This should be a good start to finding a general problem with your Kawasaki KZ400.

Triumph Rocket III

Triumph Rocket 3 Service Manual

Yet the biggest engined mass produced motorbike on the marketplace, the Rocket III now comes in three guises. Joining the standard and Classic versions is this one, the Touring. Modified, as its name suggests, to cover ground with some comfort and practicality, the Triumph is one almighty motorcycle with an ability to turn the heads of both bikers and those who've never ridden. My first journey on it underlined what the Rocket is suited to best of all.

Triumph Rocket 3 Service Manual

The hundred mile unchartered trip I made on it, discovering some new routes in the counties of Gloucestershire and Wiltshire was an extremely pleasurable and restful experience. Made all the more pleasant by dry roads and a 25C ambient temperature, the stroll through the countryside along deserted back routes was a scenario the Triumph felt right at home in. And thanks to its hugely torquey engine and unexpectedly good handling it's nowhere near as challenging to ride as you'd think. Considerations always need to be made to the cruiser's size and weight and you constantly need to assess situations before you fully commit to them. But as time goes by, you'll be surprised more and more by what can be achieved.Something very easily summoned by the massive 2.3litre three-cylinder engine is extra speed.

Triumph Rocke

Tuned for slightly less power, but more torque on this version of the Rocket, as you'd expect from such a potent powerplant there's always some impressive acceleration available. But it's the relaxed and very friendly way that the mph gains are produced that's all the more remarkable. Choosing the right gear or rpm level somehow seems to be an irrelevant essential to going faster. As long as the throttle can be twisted then the job can be done. The five gears it has are widely spaced with a high overall ratio.

With the truck-like torque the motor has, pulling such tall gears is never a challenge with just small gains in rpm producing larger step-up in mph. It's hard to believe that there are things like pistons and con-rods moving up and down cylinders. All that sort of stuff would appear to be far too mechanically vulgar such is the easy, unhurried way the engine performance is made. At times it feels more like some sort of nuclear reactor than internal combustion engine. Whenever a situation arises where more pace is instantly required the Triumph is fantastically obedient, and knowing that stuff like overtaking is going to be executed in a swift and safe manner gives the bike an even more laid-back character.

Guaranteed achievement is always a nice thing to depend on.A bit less straightforward is the way the Rocket's chassis deals with life on the road. Of course it very much depends on the sort of environment you're faced with as to how well it copes. On my summer evening's run away from the traffic and urban hazards the most challenges were met easily. I think it helps that I've been riding motorcycles for a long time now, and being particularly familiar with the standard version of the motorcycle has assisted too. So as long as you are forward thinking sufficient, and know how to read things before they become too difficult to manage, you won't have problems. It's a bike that needs to flow with some consistency and not one that can react quickly enough to sudden demands of either speed or direction changes.Suspension and braking performance is easily good enough to cope with the Triumph's performance generally.

Triumph Rocket Workshop Manual

But when a riding situation is more irregular and not all the changes are easy to predict, then you've got to ride with a bit more in hand. Allowing for the fact that stopping or steering round hazards (even with its much skinnier 180 section rear tyre, compared to the standard bike's 240) takes time is an essential thing to realise on this bike. It's a highly capable bit of kit, particularly when you bear in mind just what sort of machine it is. But you can't ask it to do the impossible, so riding through congested towns and cities needs plenty of care and attention.Attention is something the big chromed cruiser is never short of. Quite apart from its ability to dwarf the absolute majority of other bikes, the tall craggy black-finished engine offset by lots of Harley-aping chrome, extra lights and crash bars, catches the eye of plenty.

And so it should. The British bike had lots of sheer presence, enough to either make people silent or slack jawed at the immensity of it all. More often, it encourages plenty to interrogate you and make petrol station fill ups last at least double the amount of time they should. Thanks to the healthy tank size of just under 5 gallons, the digital 'miles to fill' reading on the tank-mounted instruments will register between 175-250miles depending on how hard you push the Rocket. If you intend to stay in the seat for a while there's good news in that it's sumptuous enough to allow the fuel stop to be the next time you'll need to refresh yourself in any way.

And with the quickly detachable screen giving total wind protection the risk of tiring is virtually non existent. With enough luggage capacity to cater for time away from home, as a tourer the bike ticks sufficient boxes, even if the hard and lockable panniers are too slim to hold a helmet. The only other thing to be critical of regarding mile-eating is the height and width of the bars, which in my case at least, put my arms at a slightly unnatural position.

And though it never really caused me any problems, I wonder if they would if I spent all day on a motorway essentially locked in the same position.I'm not sure if that would be a wise thing to do on any motorcycle mind you. And if the rich pleasure I got from my evening ride in the countryside was anything to go by, then long straight and monotonous routes like that should be avoided. Getting the best the Triumph has to offer isn't something that should be missed.
