Types of Ramps for Sale

Ramps are used in so many ways. There are ramps used in sporting and extreme rides such as rollers, skateboards, and BMXs. Other uses of platforms are for outdoor vehicles such as motorcycles, ATVs and bigger vehicles such as 4x4, SUVs, tractors and other construction vehicles. With so many manufacturers entering the market with their own design, finding good ramps for sale never runs out.

There are two types of ramps - recreational and loading ramps.

The Recreational Ramps
Recreational ramps are those that are used in sporting and extreme events such as rollers, skateboards and BMX competitions. The materials used vary. Snowboarders and free-skiers use ramps made of snow while ramp for rollers, skateboards and BMX require a sturdier material such as wood and cement. Skaters, Skateboarders and BMX riders can actually use the same ramp as they require the same design.

Recreational ramps for sale may either be fully made or a build-it-yourself kit. The size of skate ramp ranges from small jump ramps to full mini-ramps. Name it, the whole array of ramps can be bought online. Foremost thing to consider when getting skateboard ramps is space. If the area is limited then your option is to get a mini ramp enough to give you some air time and enough space to land.

Now if space is not an issue and you wanted to have a more daring ramp to raise your skill level, then find BMX ramps that you could share the costs and the time with other extreme enthusiasts in your neighborhood.

The Loading Ramps
It is also known as trailer ramps. It is either classified as fixed, semi-permanent, or portable. Fixed platforms are mostly installed in homes examples are wheelchair ramps. Semi-permanent inclines are used when rare occasions require you to move the ramp. The portable type is the most commonly used because of its versatility. It can load and unload many things from cargoes to vehicles. Its variations are ATV ramps, motorcycle ramps, and car platforms.

One thing to consider in getting this incline is its safety features. This type of platform is attached firmly on the truck or trailer bed to avoid the wheels of vehicles from kicking the plank down. So check if it has solid harnesses. Next, look into its weight capacity to make sure it can withstand the load. Third, make sure the length is long enough to lessen the steepness of the platform and wide enough to give extra space for the vehicle's wheels or the cargoes size. Lastly, ramps must have non-slip surface so that snow or rain wouldn't pose dangers.

When checking ramps for sale from any seller or manufacturer, make sure you focus on what you need and what work you need to accomplish with the ramp. With that in mind, you wouldn't go wrong with your choice.
