Mitsubishi Delica L400 Service Manual
Mitsubishi Delica L400 Review
Have you a Mitsubishi Delica that you repair and maintain yourself? These manuals cover the Mitsubishi Delica L400. The Service manual will be of particular interest to owners who intend to spend time making diy repairs or maintenance on thier cars.
The Mitsubishi Delica Service manuals are the first step in repairs for the DIYer. These manuals contain general information, routine maintenance, Engine and Engine renovation, Trouble Codes and Diagnostics and much much more.
L400 Delica 2nd generation mixture of Shogun and MPV with 138bhp 2.8 chain-cam 4 cylinder diesel engine. Will just about crack 100 with 0-60 in about 15 seconds. 7 or 8 seats. 2nd row of 7 seat edition slide, fold and pivot to face rear bench. Rear bench reclines to make a bed or splits and folds up to sides to create more luggage space. Other features often include electric curtains and skylights. a/c.
Mitsubishi Delica L400 not to be confused with earlier 2.5 Delica L300 which was a converted, mid engined four-wheel-drive rectangular cabover van and not nearly as good.
This was over sensationalised by the tabloids, but in August 2008 an older model 1992 Delica L300 was branded "inherently severe" by Kendal coroner Ian Smith in an an inquest into the deaths of two women who were killed when their Delica L300 4x4 crashed into the central reservation of the M6. The coroner continued: "Anyone who owns one of these vehicles should leave it exactly where it is and get expert help." Apparently there was a bang from the transmission area, the driver put on the brakes and veered from left to right. Crash investigator PC Mark Dempster said that because of its high centre of gravity, the Delica L300 is unstable and unsuitable for motorway use. He said: "It is an inner-city vehicle." Mr Smith recorded an accidental death verdict and said he would tell the Department of Transport that the vehicle is 'inherently severe'.
Unfortunately the reports did not mention that the Delica was an L300, not an L400, so wrongly denounced all Delicas "inherently severe". And in post inquest converstation, PC Mark Dempster is quoted as saying the real cause was, "extreme braking and maneuvering at high speed" by which he means extreme control inputs for this type of vehicle. Under similar conditions in a Ford Mondeo the fatality would probably not have happened. He does NOT think the Delica is any more or less dangerous than many other older 4x4 vehicles. He specifically mentioned older Range and Land Rovers. His main concern is that some people do not afford this type of vehicle the respect they deserve "you don't get in one of these things and drive them like you were driving a ford fiesta or 2.8 litre sports saloon."
