2012 Kia Sedona Review

Kia has been busy redesigning and overhauling the Optima, Sportage, Sorento, and Rio models but they have left out the Sedona up to this point. Other than a slight power bump, some minor styling tweaks and an optional rear entertainment system the 2012 Kia Sedona is unchanged. It's still an exceptional value with a fantastic warranty but the Sedona is starting to look a little stale. For 2012 the Kia Sedona is offered in two trim levels the LX and the EX, below is an overview of the features and specs for both.

LX-Standard features include keyless entry, full power accessories, 16-inch wheels, front and rear air conditioning, roof rails, fold down table, removable second row captain's chairs, rear parking sensors, tilt steering wheels with audio controls, 60/40 split fold down rear seats, cloth interior, cruise control, Bluetooth, six speaker CD/MP3 stereo with satellite radio and USB auxiliary jack. The 2012 Kia Sedona is powered by a 3.5 liter V6 the produces 271 horsepower and 248 pound feet of torque. A six speed automatic with manual shift control is the only transmission available. Gas mileage is rated at 18 mpg city and 25 mpg on the highway. Standard safety features include front seat side airbags, antilock brakes with brake assist, stability control, and full length side curtain airbags. The 2012 Kia Sedona earned the top rating of "good" from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety in frontal offset and side impact tests.

EX- Upgrading to the EX model adds heated outside mirrors, power tailgate, 17 inch alloy wheels, leather wrapped steering wheel, wood interior trim, power rear quarter windows, trip computer, and power adjustable front seats. The EX model also includes chrome exterior trim, rear view camera, auto dimming rear view mirror, and dual power sliding doors. These features along with 16 inch alloy wheels are also available on the LX model if a person chooses to purchase the power package upgrade. Other options for the EX model are offered in packages. The Luxury package adds leather interior, heated front seats, driver seat memory, automatic climate control, power adjustable pedals, and a sunroof. The Premium Entertainment package includes an in dash six disc cd changer, rear seat DVD, and a 10 speaker Infinity sound system. The Navigation package adds a navigation system and an 8 speaker Infinity sound system. Upgrading to either the Premium Entertainment package or the Navigation package requires the luxury package first. All engine and standard safety features are the same as on the LX model.
