2010 Chevy Camaro - The Seven Year Hiatus Has Finally Ended

It's been a long 7 years for those muscle car fans who've been waiting for the release of the fifth generation Chevy Camaro. But now that it's here was is worth the wait? Well, in one word, yes! For starters, even though the most popular version of the Camaro is the power packed V8, the V6 model is a better overall value. Now, of course the V6 is not nearly as powerful as the V8, and the engine is not as loud and the V8's, but when compared to other V8 cars on the market, the V6 version is a good enough choice for those who want a car with a powerful engine and a low price tag.

Most people compare the Camaro with the Ford Mustang and the Dodge Challenger. There are hundreds of comparison videos for the 3 cars online including one where all 3 race a helicopter. Now, personally speaking, I think the Camaro is a better choice than its two rivals because it's base model is a lot more powerful and affordable. And after test driving all 3 cars I can say that the handling for the Camaro is much better as well thanks two the new technology Chevy has created for the car. It also lighter than older model muscle cars, but on average is heavier than most modern models. But it's lighter than the Challenger and it's one reason why the Camaro always win racing competitions against it.

The styling of the Camaro is simply amazing. What the designers decided to do was to figure out what exactly made the '67 Camaro so popular. And after that, they simply applied it to the 2010 model. At first glance of the vehicle, you can instantly tell that the designers paid attention to even the smallest details of both the interior and the exterior. Some people have a problem with the simpleness of the interior layout. But in my opinion, it looks great. I would rather have a simple dashboard layout with all the controls spaced out perfectly than have all of the controls "mashed" together.

As for the colors, the official colors of the Camaro are: Inferno Orange Metallic, Rally Yellow, Synergy Green Metallic, Victory Red, Black, Cyber Gray Metallic, Imperial Blue Metallic, Red Jewel Tintcoat and Silver Ice Metallic. So far, the most popular and best selling color is Black, followed by Silver Ice Metallic. Popular unofficial colors are matte black and matte white. The matter colors for the 2010 Camaro became popular due to athletes and actors being seen driving in them.

As for the engine, Chevy was able to get a lot of power out of its V6 engine due to direct fuel injection technology. It's because of this technology that the V6 features more than 300 horsepower, which is a lot from an engine that's not a V8. And regardless of whether you buy the automatic or manual transmission model, there's one good aspect that both versions share, and that's the fact that they can both go from 0 to 60 in 6 seconds. And what makes it even better for Camaro fans is that the Challenger goes from 0 to 60 in 7.8 seconds. And the Mustang v6 model goes from 0 to 60 in 6.9 seconds.

Now as for the weight issue, the Camaro is 3,719 pounds. And in comparison, the Mustang is 3,405 pounds. But the weight of the vehicle is not really important, it's how the car feels while driving. To me, the Camaro feels perfect while on the highway and driving around town in stop and go traffic with lots of turns. And as for gas mileage, well this is where the V6 model really shines. Now we all know that muscle cars get a bad rap due to bad gas mileage numbers. But the 2010 Camaro gets 29mpg on average. And with numbers that good, and with a price tag under $25k, you can have a great looking car that has great mpg numbers and also wont cost you a fortune to own.
