Keeping Your Car Clean When Acting As A Doggy Chauffeur

If you are a dog person then you understand the simple joy of having Fido ride in the backseat of your vehicle on a summer day, head out the window, tongue flying, and ears flapping. When Fido has a great time riding you do, too, as you are able to bond with your pet and let him or her take a much-needed break from your backyard or house. Of course you can't take your dog with you everywhere, but wouldn't you get tired of staring at the same fence all day, too?

Many pet owners love to take their canine companions with them when they travel, but the dilemma that always crops up is this: how can you keep your car clean when driving Fido around? Between the slobber and the dog hair things are bound to get messy, and if you have to feed your pet while on the road then don't even consider having a clean backseat when you arrive at your destination. Luckily, there are different ways to overcome these issues so that you can enjoy your rides with your best friend as much as Fido does!

- Invest in a vacuum cleaner specifically designed to pick up pet hair. These are fairly common on today's market and, with the help of an extension cord, can become your go to appliance for cleaning out your car. With special attachments made to pick up pet hair, you don't have to worry about it getting matted into your upholstery as long as you clean it out fairly regularly.

- Use a blanket. Many pet stores sell microfiber blankets that attract dog hair, so all of that fur that Fido sheds will end up on the blanket, not on your backseat. With a simple spin through the washing machine these blankets are clean and ready to go on your next adventure!

- Keep window cleaner handy. Unfortunately, there is no way to avoid all the slobber that will end up on your window when Fido basks in the sunlight as you drive down the road; however, you can keep some window cleaner handy and simply wipe down the affected windows after every trip. This will keep your car looking clean and will prevent the drool from building up on the surface of the glass - which is something that you surely don't want to deal with after a few rides through town.

- Avoid feeding Fido in the car. If you are going on a long distance trip and have to break out the kibble make it a point to pull over at a rest stop or gas station. Eating may take longer when on the road, as your pet will be far more interested in the new sights and sounds than in the food, but be patient and allow your furry friend enough time to eat.

Dog lovers enjoy the time they spend with their pets, especially the time they get to go on adventures outside of the house, but no one likes to cleanup after driving a dog around. Stick to these tips, though, and cleanup will be a breeze!
